The quality of a child’s education should never be predetermined by his or her ZIP code. If elected to the OC Board of Education, I will fight each and every day to ensure that all OC public school students have the opportunity to dream and achieve.”

Help Elect Matt Nguyen on June 5, 2018

  • Matt understands firsthand the community-focused values of Orange County's diverse communities. The son of Vietnamese refugees who fled communism, Matt was born and raised in Orange County. He attended Orange County public schools, UC Berkeley, and Yale Law School. Last year, Matt organized the first-ever Vietnamese American Aerospace Professional Association (VAAPA) MathCounts competition for hundreds of Orange County middle school students.
  • Matt is an experienced educator. For nearly a decade, Matt has taught thousands of students at Edison High, UC Berkeley, and Yale Law School. Matt knows that the best educational outcomes for children come from positive expectations, supportive parents, engaging lessons, and empowered public school teachers.
  • Matt has an established track record of fighting for the education rights of students and families in the classroom, in the California State Capitol, and in court with the NAACP and ACLU. Matt firmly believes that all children across Orange County have the constitutional right to a high-quality public education, and opposes corporate-led efforts to defund our neighborhood public schools.
  • As a homegrown Eagle Scout, Matt is dedicated to trustworthy leadership and proven results. He has rejected all corporate PAC money and any support from outside special interest groups. If elected to the OC Board of Education, you can count on Matt to put the children and families of Orange County first.
